REC, Tarragona International Film Festival, is launching a new RECMatch call for actors and actresses who would like to join its professional programme and connect with film projects in development.
RECMatch is part of RECLab, REC’s laboratory dedicated to supporting and training film industry professionals. Within this framework, selected actors and actresses will work with the teams behind the selected projects at an early stage of their creative process. On 4 and 5 December, they will prepare and perform scenes from the projects, working under the direction of their creators and with the guidance of Amanda Brennan, a British acting coach with more than 30 years of experience in film, television and theatre. Specialised in screen acting, Brennan has worked on productions including Sex Education, The Crown, House of Guinness and Chuck Chuck Baby and has headed the Acting for Screen programme at London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
The call is open to professional, emerging and student actors and actresses. No specific professional background is required, but applicants must have a good level of English, as the sessions will be conducted in English.
Participation will be adapted to the needs of the selected projects and the profiles of the performers. Each participant may be called for one or several sessions, in the morning or afternoon, on one or both days, depending on the requirements of each project.
An opportunity to work, connect and get noticed
Taking part in RECMatch will allow actors and actresses to work directly with directors and screenwriters developing their upcoming projects, put their acting skills to the test in specific scenes and further develop their on-camera and English-language performance skills.
The experience will also offer the opportunity to gain insight into casting and film development processes, work with Amanda Brennan and connect with the creators and industry professionals taking part in the programme.
RECMatch is also a meeting and networking space around the cinema of tomorrow, where new collaborations and professional connections can emerge.

The call will be open from Thursday 24 September.
To apply, participants must complete the registration form and submit a CV, photographs, reel or videobook, and a brief explanation of why they would like to take part in RECMatch.
