RECLab opens its doors to the industry once again
RECLab is REC’s industry arm – a meeting space that brings together projects, industry professionals, and national and international experts to advance project development, training, and industry networking.
- RECPush is an initiative designed to connect Catalan, Spanish, and international producers and to promote co-production across all stages of development. Focusing on personal connections rather than just project pitches, RECPush offers workshops, presentations and dynamic networking to build long-term partnerships. Submissions are open until September 15.
- RECMatch is structured as an actor-directing seminar that offers directors and screenwriters with projects in development practical tools for character building, scene direction and casting analysis. Actors like Álvaro Cervantes, Laura Gómez, Almudena Amor and Paulina Garcia have previously joined RECMatch sessions to bring projects by creators like Jorge Thielen Armand, Burnin’ Percebes or Mo Scarpelli to life. Submissions are open until September 15.
- RECVision is a training space for cultural initiatives (exhibitors, film showcases, education) looking to build and engage audiences. Through workshops, case studies, and expert mentorship, RECVision helps participants explore effective tools for promotion, marketing, and audience development. Submissions are open until September 15.
- Primer Test is RECLab’s work-in-progress section, selecting between 7 and 10 Spanish films (or co-productions) in post-production. In Primer Test, creators present their projects to international experts—including programmers, sales agents, and consultants—to receive feedback, compete for awards and support their international festival journey. Titles selected in previous editions include 20,000 especies de abejas by Estibaliz Urresola, Lóngquán by Adrià Guxens, Creatura by Elena Martín or Mala Bèstia by Bàrbara Farré. Submissions are open until September 15.

REC is looking for emerging talent
The Opera Prima section welcomes first and second feature films, either fiction or documentary, by emerging directors from around the world. The official section puts the focus on works with an original narrative and a fresh perspective within the international film scene. Films must have a minimum duration of 60 minutes and must not have been commercially released in Spain. Submissions open until September 10.
The call for entries for Talent Local is also open, the non-competitive showcase that consolidates its place as the freshest, youngest, and most experimental section of the Festival. Dedicated to discovering new voices in the territory, this space gives visibility to creators from the province of Tarragona starting their filmmaking careers through a selection of the best local short films. Submissions open until October 5.

GenREC reaches its 4th edition
Within the framework of GenREC, REC’s training programme, calls for entries are also open for Joves Programadors and Jurat Jove, two proposals that involve young people actively in different areas of the festival.
Joves Programadors is a theoretical and practical programme focused on cultural management, editorial line, film curating, and strategic festival communication. Participants will work on selecting short films for Talent Local and will configure the section’s official lineup under the mentorship of active professionals. Submissions open until September 20.
Jurat Jove,for its part, offers participants the possibility to actively take part in the festival as jury members. The group will watch the works in the Opera Prima international competition, hold joint deliberations, and award the Youth Jury Award. Submissions open until September 30.
