The industry section of the REC Festival is still, this 2023, a ninth edition in constant growth in terms of proposals and professional sessions as well as international recognition. In this way, the REC Professional Laboratory, which will take place from November 23 to 25, reaffirms this year as a successful platform for emerging creators.
An example of this success are the films ‘SURO’, by Mikel Gurrea, and ‘RAMONA’, by Andrea Bagney. The first production went through the RECLab 2021 -the only laboratory in which it participated- and this year returned to the Festival in the Official Section the Opera Pima Competition, after having triumphed and obtained great recognition at various festivals around the world.
In the case of the second film, awarded last year’s Primer Test with the Málaga Work In Progress award and the National Deluxe award, it was also part of the 2022 Vermouth Sessions, after having been released internationally at the Karlovy Vary Festival. Therefore, with REC DNA proposals such as these, the task that has been carried out in recent editions of the Professional Laboratory is clear.

In addition, the College of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia and the College of Architects make their debut as new REC spaces by hosting the various industry sessions this year.
The REC International Film Festival of Tarragona and Play Acció Cultural organize the RECLab with the support of Acción Cultural Española, Cine ICAA -through the Ministry of Culture and Sports- and the European Union, through the Next Generation Fund programme.
