SYNOPSIS
Cinematographer Sean Price Williams (after working with the Safdie brothers, Alex Ross Perry and Abel Ferrara) jumps into directing in THE SWEET EAST, a picaresque and unpredictable satire that tackles one of the great motifs of the American imagination: the physical and emotional journey; through the cities and forests of the East Coast.
With a magnetic Talia Ryder, who is already emerging as a new indie film muse in the lead role, it tells the story of Lillian, a young woman who decides to escape from the end-of-year trip to try to get to know herself a little better. Over-the-shoulder camera and some essential 16 millimetres give a good grain and personality to a film that harks back to the early works of Gus van Sant and Sean Baker.
Seductive, fresh and crazy, THE SWEET EAST, Alice in Trash Wonderland, is destined to become the cult film of the year.
