Helena and Iván are about to have their first child. Fed up with urban life in Barcelona, they set out to build a new path by recovering their family’s old cork oak farm. The plan seems idyllic, but their different points of view on how to live on the land come to the surface, challenging their future as a couple.
One of the most successful projects of RECLab 2021, it premiered worldwide at the San Sebastian Festival, where it won the International Critics’ Award. The heartfelt, tender and heartbreaking performances of Vicky Luengo and Pol López bring to life a couple who, beyond escaping the rush and seeking the essential, with their conflicts, raise questions such as personal identity, life approaches or the legacy we leave with our actions.
But the great discovery is Mikel Gurrea, a director with a lot of talent to expose human feelings with an exquisite vision of the shot and the ductility of jumping genres, while the spectators remain attached to the story.
