A father and his son set off on a summer road trip, from Murcia to the north of France, with the mission of picking up their daughter and sister along the way. What begins as a simple journey by car becomes a trip filled with incidents, emotions and unexpected moments.
After a promising start in the world of music videos and short films, Carlos Saiz makes his fiction feature debut with Lionel, one of the most exciting works in contemporary Spanish independent cinema. Exposing himself completely alongside his characters, this is a sincere first feature, full of difficult moments, yet one that appeals directly to our most vulnerable side: father–child relationships.
