Fedor, a twenty-five-year-old musician, is going through a dark period: his guitar is out of tune, his hangover weighs on him, and the news speaks only of an imminent Third World War. While his sister Nina devotes herself to activism, he becomes obsessed with a far more earthly goal: forming a band and writing songs. To do so, he must recover his lucky sweater, lost somewhere in the city.
This quest drags him into a comic and musical odyssey among friends, romances, and strangers, with absurd conversations, touches of mythology, and bursts of animation. Deep down, everyone seems to want the same thing: to find meaning in life, companionship, or a bit of affection at the end of the world.
In the words of the director, “the spark that ignited the film was a very simple question: Why do I remain obsessed with making films while the world seems to be collapsing? At some point, I thought: maybe I should make a film about that. But I didn’t want to tell the story of a filmmaker trapped in that dilemma, so I decided to transfer it to music. In the end, the essence of the film is this: If the world were to end tomorrow, would we still create art?”
