What if rainbows were time travellers? Arco, a 10-year-old boy from the distant future, loses control on his first flight with a rainbow-suit and crash-lands in the year 2075. There he is found by Iris, also 10 years old, who decides to hide him and help him return home. While they search for a way to send him back, they must face a world already marked by the damage of climate change.
The animated film of the year, already positioned for the Oscar race. Produced by Natalie Portman (who also voices a character in the original version), Arco combines the best of several worlds: the ecological awareness and humanist gaze of Hayao Miyazaki, the adolescent sweetness of the films of Makoto Shinkai (Your Name), and the sense of adventure of Spielberg’s E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
