Jim Jarmusch returns in full force with a family story elevated by the chemistry of an extraordinary ensemble cast (Adam Driver, Cate Blanchett, etc.), which earned him the top award at the recent Venice Film Festival. The film is structured in three acts around the same central event: the gathering of members of a family.
Adult siblings reunite after years without seeing one another, forced to confront unresolved tensions and to re-examine their relationships with emotionally distant parents. Each of the three stories takes place in a different country: The Father, in the United States; The Mother, in Dublin; and The Sister/The Brother, in Paris.
