Primer Test
PRIMER TEST
Primer Test is the RECLab work-in-progress, with 7 to 10 works section, in diverse post-production phases and with the open call to spanish productions (or co-productions). The chosen works are presented in front of a reduced group of international experts (programmers, selling agents or members of the industry) that will discuss with the authors about the best way of finishing their work.
The organization tries to create a welcoming space of trust in order to generate reflexive and positive conversations in a key moment for the production. With a collaborative formula, they try to take care of the creators to help them take the right decisions.
Primer Test, with a wide net of collaborators and awards, helps the completing of the works and pushes their way in to the international circuit.

of the XXIII edition of the REC Festival.

Jim Kolmar
Independent film programmer and writer.
From 2009 to 2020 he was in charge of the selection of feature films for the South by Southwest Film Festival, where he is currently an advisor for international feature films (especially Spanish-language films) Program for the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival. He has collaborated as a programmer at the Tulum International Film Festival (FICTU) and the Portland International Film Festival.
Anette Dujisin
Film industry professional specializing in programming, distribution and VoD.
She is currently a programmer at the Festa do Cinema Italià in Portugal, Brazil, Angola and Mozambique, distributes Portuguese cinema in Italy and advises young filmmakers on internationalization, festivals and distribution strategies. He worked as country manager of Filmin, Portugal. Programmer of the International Week of the Venice Film Critics.
Frida Fan
Assistant director of the programming and film competition department of the Shanghai International Film Festival. She is in charge of SIFF PROJECT, the SIFF project matchmaking platform since 2014. In 2017 Frida started the SIFF talent training program NEXT.He is also currently part of the festival’s programming team and deals mainly with classic films and special curation.
Ariadna Dot
Emerging producer who works in Barcelona at the production companies Lastor Media as a junior executive producer and Vilaüt Films. He made his debut as assistant production director in the feature film 10,000KM (Best Acting Duo at SXWS, Goya Award for Best Directorial Debut). Among his most recent projects are the feature films: “Creature” by Elena Martín (Best European film at the Quinzaine des Cineastes in Cannes 2023), “Alcarràs” by Carla Simon (Golden Bear Berlinale 2022), among others
SCREENNING TEST
The RECLab opens its doors to the Tarragona public. The Teatret del Serrallo is the space chosen for this activity called screening test. This offers the opportunity to get to know cinema “in its raw form” from a film not yet released, participating in the Primer Test accompanying laboratory.
The session, lasting approximately two hours, has the participation of part of the film’s management and production team, as well as Álvaro Vega, founder of the marketing and communication agency Doble Sentido, responsible for the promotion of 150 films and 2 Spanish nominations for the Oscars. Vega is in charge of energizing the day and collecting the impressions of those attending the room, who will be part of a pioneering and unique experience in Spain.
The feedback from the public will help the creators of the film to think about their audiences before starting a tour on the circuit of film festivals -national and international-, in addition to reaching cinema screens.
THE AWARDS
International Deluxe Award, includes the production of the Master DCP OV with the original version, the Master DCP Version File with the version with English subtitles, as well as two screenings in your theater and the delivery of the film to the festivals that are selected during a year, and the generation of the KDMs necessary for the promotion of the film.
National Deluxe Award, includes the production of the DCP OV Master with the original version, the DCP Version File Master with the version with English subtitles, and the ProRes sRGB Master, and two screenings of the film for programmers and press at the his room
Individualized follow-up award and screening test, consists of the performance of a screening test in Tarragona, prior to the release of the film, with a preselected audience. For six months, an expert in marketing and distribution strategy will monitor the implementation of the project.
Málaga Work in Progress Award, consists of the direct selection and participation of the awarded project in Málaga WIP 2022.
CineMart Award by Catalan Films, includes an accreditation to participate in industry activities and in the Cinemart co-production market, at the Rotterdam International Film Festival.
